HistoryA hope and goal of many members of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North, formation of a charitable foundation became a viable reality in 1986, as a result of a modest bequest from one of our Club's late members: Al Demarest. Over time the assets 'left to the club had appreciated in value and became the nucleus and basic building block for the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North Charitable Foundation. The Foundation is fully qualified as a charitable foundation under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its main objective is to address glaring needs in the local community and to support worthwhile nonprofit agencies and charities in which club members -are' directly involved. The Foundation Board is composed of members elected for two-year terms. All members of the board are caring, competent executives who most willingly donate their services and time. This assures that operating and administrative costs are minimal and dollars going intothe Foundation’s hands are put to work where they are needed. |
