The
most powerful force in the promotion of international understanding and
peace is exposure to different cultures. The world becomes a smaller,
friendlier place when we learn that all people – regardless of
nationality – desire the same basic things: a safe, comfortable
environment that allows for a rich and satisfying life for themselves
and for their children.
The
Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North International Youth Exchange program
sponsors a short term youth exchange with the Rotary Clubs throughout the world. Past exhange students have visited the Ansbach Club in Bavaria, Germany.
For
3 weeks, students live with a Rotarian family in another part of the world.
Often a reciprocal exchange will place an international student with a Rotarian host family in Santa Barbara. Due to the short duration of the program, it is recommended
that the student exchange take place during school breaks.
